Association of stock market lawyers

Association of stock market lawyers (ASML) – non-profit organization that was created in 1998 with its of development of national securities market, protection of investments and legal interests of all participants of stock market. Association unites specialists in the sphere of stock market - lawyers, economists, scientists and representatives of state bodies. As a collective members of Association are First Stock Trading System (PFTS), Ukrainian Association of Investment Business (UAIB), Ukrainian Society of Financial Analysts (USFA), Kiev International Stock Exchange (KISE), Ukrainian Stock Market Development Institute (USMDI), Investment company "KINTO", Closed Corporation "Alpha Capital", Investment company "INEKO", Investment company "Prospect Investments", Investment company "Congress-Invest", "Pravex-Bank", Privat-Bank" and others.

The main tasks of Association are the following:

preparation of recommendations and help in realization of perspective investment policy;

assistance in development of legal and normative base on issues of stock market functioning, which would assure further development of national capital market;

assistance in protection of private investments;

participation in development of draw instructions and bills;

representation of shareholder in shareholder meetings;

coordination of Association members activity;

cooperation with public (non-governmental) organizations, international and national funds, similar foreign organizations;

attracting of intellectual property on voluntary basis;

representation and protection of legal interests of Association members in state bodies, courts and public organizations;

organization of forums, conferences, seminars, symposiums, councils on the questions of stock market development;

assistance in development of the systems of preparation, modernization and upgrading of personnel qualification.

Association leads active scientific, lawmaking, methodological, teaching and publishing activity.

Association specialists have developed more than 30 draw bills, President Decrees, Regulations of State Stock Market and Securities Commission, State Property Fund on the questions of corporate finance, privatization, mutual investment funds taxation on the stock market, leasing, information disclosure, protection of investor rights and other questions on stock market functioning.

Association does:

Widening of lawmaking activity in tight cooperation with Parliament of Ukraine, President Administration, Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, State Stock Market and Securities Commission, State Property Fund, as well as professional associations and self-regulation organizations;

Series of seminars on legal matters in investment activity on the securities market of Ukraine within National program "Partnership for effective management and investment" together with State Stock Market and Securities Commission, Center for attraction of investments of Ukrainian union of businessmen and producers (UUBP) and Ukrainian Stock Market Development Institute;

Organization of actively operating Congress-Business-Club with help of newspaper "Business" and official newspaper of State Stock Market and Securities Commission - "Securities of Ukraine";

Creation and support in Internet of informational portal for investors and participants of Ukrainian stock market (www.investportal.com.ua).
